Bio

Mercy has over three years of experience in Information Technology and community development, specifically focusing on digital communications implementation, internet governance and policy, advocacy for open internet, digital literacy, youth participation and research in emerging technologies (artificial intelligence), social media management and digital marketing.
Currently, Mercy works at African Institute for Investigative Journalism as a Grants and Partnership lead. AIIJ is an organization dedicated to fostering investigative journalism in Africa, with a focus on Uganda. We promote impactful media practices rooted in human rights and social justice, aiming to inform public discourse and create a supportive environment for passionate investigative journalists. In her current role her responsibilities have included : identifying potential grants, developing and maintaining relationships with donors ,developing and managing grant proposals, managing grant programs ,collaborating with internal teams, reporting and evaluating.
Mercy holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Uganda Christian University Mukono. She is driven by her commitment to social development, empowering the youth and minority groups through technology, uncensored internet that serves everyone and one day he hopes to witness an open and free society where everyone has access to information and are treated equally.
